Rich Bruer is principal of R. Bruer Company, a strategic communications advisory firm in Portland. He counsels businesses and nonprofits committed to social, environmental and economic sustainability. His focus is helping clients fulfill their missions and engage their stakeholders through distinct, relevant brand identities and communications strategies. Prior to forming R. Bruer Company in 2007, Rich was principal of McClenahan Bruer Communications, a high tech public relations and advertising agency in Portland he co-founded in 1993. Rich got his start in high tech as a corporate communications manager for Mentor Graphics in Wilsonville, after beginning his career as a newspaper journalist. Rich holds an MS in journalism from the University of Oregon.

Rachel Trice, CFEE, president of PUNCH Event Marketing, is a 15-year veteran of the festivals and events industry. Rachel is a rare expert in the sponsorship industry with a rich and varied background in event production and programming, marketing and media planning, and sponsorship consulting. Rachel has produced the Bend WinterFest, sold partnerships for the 2005 US Figure Skating Championships, served as the executive director of the Oregon Festivals & Events Association. She teaches sponsorship courses as an adjunct professor for the University of Oregon's Festivals & Event Management Certificate Program. She is a regular speaker at industry functions including Northwest Festivals & Events Conference, National Parks & Recreation Association, American Marketing Association and the Oregon Governor's Conference on Tourism.
